DocForge is currently funded privately. Eventually, when it grows large enough, this will not be sufficient. Without the scope and visibility of a site like Wikipedia it is unlikely that DocForge will be able to maintain funding through donations. Therefore DocForge will be seeking sponsorship through advertising. All sponsored content is clearly marked and remains outside article content. Advertisements are usually in the form of plain text links (no large gaudy banners, no flash, etc.). Advertising pays the site's bills and eventually may be large enough to pay editors and writers.

We're considering hiding advertisements for users who contribute and other potential policies. Let us know your suggestions.
